At professional conferences, we often hear coaches complain: “I’m not a good coach, I don’t sell anything”. Being a salesperson or a sales developer is one thing, being a coach is another.
However, there are similarities between coaches and sales reps: both listen and ask questions, but the coach is more comfortable with open questions and has more difficulty with closed questions, as a salesperson would do to close a sale.
