The Online Game “Coaching a Senior” is specifically designed to not only guide seniors in planning their retirement but also help them achieve their personal goals. This interactive card game provides coaches, consultants, and HR professionals with a practical and creative tool that effectively supports seniors in their career development while preparing for a successful retirement.

For many seniors, planning for retirement presents a significant challenge. Due to uncertainty about their future, a lack of clear goals, and growing concerns over how to spend their time post-career, retirement planning can feel overwhelming. Consequently, without proper guidance, it becomes difficult for seniors to find direction and adequately prepare for a fulfilling retirement.

Moreover, without a concrete plan, seniors often struggle with decision-making, which leads to frustration, loss of motivation, and an overall lack of satisfaction during retirement. However, the Online Game “Coaching a Senior” offers a structured approach that assists seniors in crafting a plan for a successful retirement. By using targeted questions, divided into four themes, the game enables seniors to thoroughly evaluate their current situation, clearly formulate their desired outcomes, identify relevant skills, and ultimately create an actionable plan.

Contents of the Game

The game consists of 52 cards, including:

• 12 goal cards: These cards help seniors identify specific goals for their retirement.
• 40 question cards, divided into four themes:
  • Current situation – 9 cards
  • Desired situation – 9 cards
  • Skills and options – 14 cards
  • Action plan – 8 cards

Additionally, the game includes full instructions for its use, as well as a list of coaching essentials to effectively guide seniors.

How It Works:

1. Choose a theme: Have the senior or couple choose a theme: Current situation, Desired situation, Skills and options, or Action plan.
2. Answer the questions: Tap on a question card to flip it and read the question aloud. This encourages reflection on their retirement and the necessary steps to take.
3. Work on the goal: The aim is to answer all the questions and develop a personal plan that fits the senior’s desired retirement style.

Examples of Retirement Goals:

• Create a plan for a future project.
• Continue working at your own pace.
• Explore volunteer opportunities.
• Relax and enjoy more free time.
