Coaching a Team – 52 virtual cards for successful cohesion and performance

Use the Online Card Game “Coach a Team” to creatively support teams in achieving their strategic goals. By asking the right questions, this game not only helps teams clarify their collective objectives but also encourages personal growth and team development. This card game is a valuable tool for coaches, trainers, HR professionals, and managers looking to strengthen their coaching skills and effectively guide teams.

Teams often struggle with defining common goals, measuring success, and understanding different roles and responsibilities. Without a structured approach, teams can become frustrated, leading to a decrease in productivity and cohesion.

Without clearly defined goals and a solid action plan, teams can quickly get stuck in unclear expectations and conflicts. Teams that don’t know how to communicate effectively or develop strategies will find it challenging to collaborate successfully.

The Online Card Game “Coach a Team” provides a structured way to guide teams in achieving their strategic goals. With 12 goal cards and 40 question cards divided into four key themes, this game helps teams identify their current situation, formulate desired outcomes, develop skills, and create an action plan.

Contents of the Game

The game includes 52 cards, divided into:

  • 12 goal cards: Teams choose a strategic goal to work on.
  • 40 question cards: Divided into four themes that support teams step by step:
    • Current situation – 9 cards
    • Desired situation – 9 cards
    • Skills and options – 13 cards
    • Action plan – 9 cards

Additionally, the game comes with comprehensive instructions and a list of the 9 essential elements for team coaching.

How It Works

  1. Choose a goal: The team selects one of the 12 goal cards to establish a common strategic goal.
  2. Answer questions: By turning over a question card, the team collectively answers the question. You can start with the first question or select a card randomly.
  3. Work on the goal: The team answers all the questions and systematically works toward their chosen goal. Their answers can be noted to monitor progress.

Examples of Strategic Goals:

  • Set a team goal.
  • Define common values.
  • Establish how success will be measured.
  • Understand different roles and responsibilities.
