Mentor coaching is an ICF-recognised form of professional guidance, aimed at deepening and strengthening the ICF core competencies.
You decide how many hours you need and how you want to structure the programme.
Sessions usually last 60 minutes, but this can be adjusted in consultation. If you would like your mentor coach to listen to a recording and prepare feedback prior to a session, this will be charged at the same hourly rate.

Description :
If you approach your role as a coach professionally, you want to build on a solid foundation. This includes sound training, practical experience, and, if desired, certification from a professional association. Those pursuing the latter through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) require mentor coaching as part of the credentialing process.
Mentor coaching is a learning method that goes beyond theory. It’s a process in which an experienced coach listens to your conversations, thinks along with you and helps you refine your skills based on the ICF core competencies. Not by teaching you tricks, but by helping you acquire an authentic, professional style.
ICF describes mentor coaching as “a collaborative process where coaches receive feedback based on observed sessions to refine their skills and style in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies”.
In other words: you are coached on your coaching.
– What are your current strengths?
– What could you have done differently?
– Which competencies do you already demonstrate, and which ones deserve attention on your way to masterful coaching?
Mentor coaching can serve various purposes. Below you will find the different options, so you can determine which programme is right for you.
If you are aiming for your first ICF credential, or wish to achieve a higher level, the following applies:
Your mentor coach will work with you towards a suitable recording of a coaching conversation (1 for ACC, 2 for PCC/MCC) that you can use for your certification application.
Do you already have an ICF credential? Then you renew it every three years by collecting 40 CCE credits (continuing coach education).
This option is not about getting a new suitable recording. The focus is on deepening, refinement and professional development.
Even without certification requirements, mentor coaching can be a powerful way to grow.
Your mentor coach listens, provides targeted feedback and helps you with, for example:
Everything is customised and tailored to your learning style and practice.
The difference with supervision is that mentor coaching focuses specifically on the ICF core competencies. Supervision takes a broader perspective: it focuses on you as a person ànd as a professional.
You can also register as a group of 2, 3 or 4 people. If you are using mentor coaching for your first ICF credential, for a higher-level credential, or for the renewal of your ACC, you may complete up to 7 of the 10 hours in a group setting. If you are using mentor coaching to renew your PCC or MCC credential, all hours may be completed in a group setting.
The advantage of working in a group can be that you learn from colleagues and have the opportunity to listen to recordings of others. The advantage of individual sessions can be that you receive more personal attention.
The costs vary. Whereas you pay € 150 per hour for individual sessions, this amount decreases for a group as follows (amounts excluding VAT):
